 I mean 'good' (prize winning) children books, of course [link] [link] ... art is mainly about emotion & composition, not (necessarily) technique [link] ;-)

 sorry, I never liked that at all, even when I was young (in the 60s btw, lol ...) :O that stuff just reminds me of that kind of 19th century Romanticism that finally led to german-italian fascism - ok, it's about my generation's trauma perhaps  I'm soooo happy I grew up surrounded with contemporary & pop-art of the late 20th century, and children stuff like [link] & [link] :w00t: but anyway, your illustration is just brilliant (your portrait photography too, great talent), if it was a book I'd buy it, and I bet my hippie generation publisher friends would give you a prize ... make some more (perhaps a story) and check the publishers of those I linked, we'll seee then :peace:

don't know how it is in your bookshops, but in my country there're loads but with "crappy-photoshop effects art" so when I see something drawn more carefully and with a "taste" it's a pleasure for my eyes :>

and thank you :)

... my fave bookshop back home in Germany [link] ;-) (but you can find those in about every town in western Europe) is full (!) of stuff like this [link] (the owner is a children book collector, and even I own some of them, because it's just brilliant artwork & big & high quality prints, and soooo cooool) she sells with drastically reduced surplus price :w00t: that good prize winning stuff is damn expensive when it's new, and nowadays some of them though used are even of higher value (if one can find them at amazon & co.) ^^; but luckily it's still the mayor part of the children book market, because 'we' don't want our kids have that crappy commercial or neo-religious US or cheap China stuff, and luckily it's neither translated, nor published a lot over here ;-)
